You know your way around Lightroom Classic, but now it’s time to push your editing further. In this workshop, Natasha Calzatti will guide you through precision-based editing using Lightroom Classic’s latest AI-powered tools. You’ll learn how to use masking for targeted adjustments, refine tone and color with intention, and eliminate distractions efficiently — all while keeping your images true to your vision.

Natasha will break down the newest capabilities in Lightroom Classic, including improved subject- and luminance-based masking, enhanced noise reduction for cleaner detail, and upgraded removal tools for fixing problem areas quickly. The goal is straightforward: sharpen your workflow, elevate your style, and help you produce work that feels polished, consistent, and deliberate.

This hands-on session is packed with practical techniques, clear demonstrations, and strategies Natasha uses in her professional workflow — adaptable to any genre of photography.

Topics include:

• Shaping color, tone, and contrast for maximum visual impact.
• Applying edits to isolated areas using advanced masking.
• Removing unwanted or distracting elements with updated AI tools.
• Using AI masking for quick, precise adjustments.
• Balancing and refining portraits, landscapes, and action images.
• Applying AI-powered noise reduction for cleaner, sharper files.

Technical Level: Intermediate. A working understanding of importing and basic folder organization is recommended.

What to bring:

• You may use the iMacs provided in our computer lab, or bring your own laptop with Adobe Lightroom Classic and Photoshop installed.
• Bring your own photos on an external hard drive formatted for Mac if you plan to use the lab iMacs.
• Natasha will also provide demo images if needed.

Instructor Bio: Natasha Calzatti. Upon receiving her BFA in Photography from Otis Parsons School of Design, Natasha Calzatti, a photographer and digital retoucher, went on to shoot award-winning photography for THE NEW YORK TIMES, NEWSWEEK, PEOPLE, and VIBE, and has been syndicated internationally. Her work is represented in many private collections and has been shown publicly in Los Angeles and, more recently, in Portland, Oregon’s Black Box Gallery. Simultaneous to her photography career, Natasha found herself at the cutting edge of imaging as it transitioned from the chemical darkroom to the digital darkroom, where her abilities became increasingly in demand for magazine clients, TV Guide, Marie Claire, Time Magazine, The Source, and Vibe, as well as advertising clients Midas, MCI, and Dreyfus. Ms. Calzatti was invited to The Getty Center to share her behind-the-camera experiences of Cuba as she presented an in-gallery exploration of A Revolutionary Project: Cuba from Walker Evans to Now.
