About This Event

A series of events designed to raise awareness of the realities beyond our borders, through authentic and inspiring stories of migration.

Around the world, droughts, floods, food shortages, and water scarcity are increasingly forcing people to leave their homes. The climate crisis is no longer a distant threat, it is already reshaping lives, livelihoods, and communities.

Climate change is displacing millions of people, and the numbers are set to rise. The World Bank estimates that by 2050, up to 216 million people could be forced to move within their own countries due to climate-related impacts. While climate change affects us all, its consequences are felt most acutely by communities already facing inequality, particularly in the Global South, where fewer resources mean greater vulnerability.

In this Beyond Bath, we will explore the intersection between climate change and migration, asking:

  • How is climate change driving displacement and migration today?
  • What are the links between climate impacts, conflict, and displacement?
  • Why does inequality shape who is most affected, and what can be done about it?

This will be a space to listen, learn, and reflect together, connecting global realities with local action and responsibility. We invite you to join the conversation and think collectively about how we can respond, as individuals, communities, and movements.

About Beyond Bath Talks

Beyond Bath Talks is a series designed to raise awareness of global realities through the voices of migrants, refugees, and activists, all working towards a more inclusive society.

One of our past speakers, Hiba from Sudafest, said:

“It’s been an honour to be part of this panel and to share such a meaningful discussion with my fellow panellists. Reflecting on my own story and hearing others—from Ukraine to Latin America—has been powerful. The questions were thoughtful, the conversations deep, and at a time when these stories matter more than ever, it’s vital to keep shedding light on our diverse journeys and voices.”
