About This Event
Bea Schemer shares a powerful perspective on survival, responsibility, and the importance of remembrance.
What: Beatrice “Bea” Schemer is a Holocaust survivor from Germany and community speaker who shares her personal story of escape, displacement, and rebuilding after the Holocaust. Drawing from her lived experience as a Jewish child under Nazi threat, she speaks about her family’s journey to safety, their years of uncertainty and migration, and the resilience required to begin again in a new country. This is Bea's first time speaking at The Breman!
When: February 22nd, Tour begins at 12:30 and speakers begin at 2:00 PM
Where: The Breman, 1440 Spring Street NW
Cost: Admission is free. Registration required.
DAY OF EVENT
Admission to the museum is complimentary all day.
12:30 PM - Visitors can attend a free guided tour of the Holocaust Gallery. Tours are capped at 60 persons in total. They are on a first-come, first-served basis. While the tour is in session, the Holocaust Gallery will be closed from 12:30 - 2 PM, but our other galleries will be open during this time.
2:00 PM - The Bearing Witness program begins. Doors to the auditorium open at 1:30 PM.
Complimentary parking is available at the museum (with free overflow parking available nearby.)
