About Angie Aparo
Angie Aparo is the songwriter behind Faith Hill’s Grammy winning, multi platinum hit “Cry.” His songwriting credits also include recordings by Miley Cyrus, Big & Rich, Tim McGraw, and Edwin McCain.
Discovered and signed by legendary music executive Clive Davis to Arista Records, Aparo released his debut major label album The American in 2000. Following its success, he toured nationally and shared the stage with artists including Matchbox Twenty, Faith Hill, and Edwin McCain.
In 2005, Aparo appeared on Faith Hill’s NBC Thanksgiving Special performing “Cry,” which led to a collaboration with renowned producer Dann Huff, known for his work with Keith Urban, Michael Bublé, and Rascal Flatts. Huff produced Aparo’s 2006 release, El Primero Del Tres.
Aparo continued his songwriting success with Tim McGraw’s 2012 album Emotional Traffic, penning “The One” and “Only Human,” the latter recorded as a duet with Ne Yo. That same year, he appeared on Zac Brown Band’s live album and DVD Pass the Jar, performing the duet “Junk Yard.”
In 2016, Aparo survived a stroke caused by a spontaneous carotid artery dissection. After overcoming stroke induced aphasia, he made an inspiring return to the stage and continues to perform today.
A documentary about Angie Aparo’s life is currently in production, alongside a new album with producer Dann Huff, both slated for release in 2026.
