Introduction to Jiang Wei: A Legend of Loyalty and Righteousness in the Three Kingdoms Era

Jiang Wei (202–264 AD), courtesy name Boyue, was a legendary military general of Shu Han during the Three Kingdoms period. Born in what is now Gansu Province, he was discovered and held in high esteem by Zhuge Liang, the renowned strategist, who imparted all his military strategies to him and entrusted him with important missions.After Zhuge Liang's death, Jiang Wei inherited his mentor’s lifelong ambition of "restoring the Han Dynasty" and led the Shu Han army to launch nine northern expeditions against the Cao Wei regime. Even after the fall of Shu Han, he never abandoned his ideals, demonstrating extraordinary courage and resourcefulness. Although his final plan ended in failure and he sacrificed his life for his country, his loyalty, righteousness and perseverance have become an eternal symbol of unwavering faith in Chinese culture, comparable to Hector in Western epics.
