Absinthe & New Orleans Cocktails Class + Tasting at Josephine!

Just in time for Mardi Gras season, enjoy samplings of four classic New Orleans cocktails and explore their French roots in the ballroom at Josephine, in Old Town, Alexandria.

Spirits Director Nick Farrell will guide guests through a tasting of a classic Sazerac, a Hurricane made the right way (with fresh passionfruit), a cognac-based French 75, and the oft-overlooked New Orleans classic, the Roffignac.

Following this cocktail tasting, Nick will demystify Absinthe, pouring properly-diluted Absinthe from one of Josephine’s antique Absinthe fountains. We’ll discuss what makes Absinthe so special, and why if you see a green fairy, it’s not the spirit’s fault.

Ticket holders will receive accompanying snacks to eat while sipping.
